For anyone mad about birds, and those who simply like getting out in nature, the Rimer's Creek birding trail is the place for you. Built by the Barberton Birding Club because of the high number of species found in this one special area, Rimer’s Creek could add 107 new species to your bird list! The 2 km circular route starts behind Fernlea Museum House and is well sign posted. Although the route is short, it is easy to spend 2 to 3 hours trying to catch a glimpse of the elusive Narina Trogon, Knysna Touraco (Lourie) or the Gorgeous Bush-Shrike. So make sure you pack some water, a hat and binoculars and prepare for a birding adventure.
