Mr Sibusiso Ngwenya a young innovative tourism entrepreneur and owner of Simeliza Tours will represent Mpumalanga as a provincial winner of the prestigious Lilizela Tourism Awards (Emerging Tourism entrepreneur of the Year Award) ETEYA category. SimelizaTours is based in Barberton, just outside Mbombela. It is a business that aims to provide high quality service using the skills and knowledge acquired in the industry, and the region they service to satisfy the needs of the clients at very competitive rates.
The Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (ETEYA) is aimed at recognising Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMME) within the tourism industry. As part of the National Lilizela Tourism Awards, ETEYA honours South Africa’s most promising and innovative emerging tourism business owners. It is a programme and a platform to discover and showcase the products as well as services by emerging tourism entrepreneurs who are committed to deliver excellence, authenticity and diversity to our visitors.
To qualify for the competition, entrepreneurs need to demonstrate innovation on how they operate. They need to show the extent to which their business plans meet consumer demands in a globally competitive environment. Entrants also need to address responsible and sustainable business practices, highlighting how their business contributes to job creation.
The national ETEYA winner will be selected from the nine provincial winners and will be announced on the 08th of October 2015 during the National Lilizela Tourism Awards Ceremony to be hosted by the Minister of Tourism HonourableDerek Hanekom.
