Mpumalanga revives Triland route with Eswatini and Mozambique

The collaboration of the MOU is for the three tourism entities to form regional collaboration and support exchange programmes to grow tourism. The intention is to advance tourism marketing and development within the Southern African Region and local tourist development for major international tourists.

Amongst the objectives of the Triland includes the Development and positioning of the Triland as a world-class tourism, trade and investment destination. The collabo also intends to contribute to the integration of the region and their common economic development goals, employment creation and economic growth, and to develop sustainable and responsible tourism.

Kholofelo Nkambule, MTPA Spokes says while enhancing joint collaboration in the conservation and protection of biodiversity, the Triland conjunct will further delegate the preservation of cultural values, heritage and national pride.

“This is an exciting period for Mpumalanga to be able to take part in the promotion of Triland route following the devastating effects of COVID-19. This presents an opportunity to showcase the new products and confirm that we have diversified our product offering which will afford tourists an opportunity to experience more,” comments Nkambule.

The signing ceremony will be followed by a tour operators networking session where tour operators from Mpumalanga, Eswatini and Mozambique will engage on opportunities available to package tourism offerings from the three regions.
