The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) will be celebrating Spring Day by handing over flowers to motorists at various traffic intersections in Mbombela on September 1, 2016.
“As part of celebrating Spring Day, the MTPA officials will be stationed at various busy traffic intersections to hand out flowers to motorists. This campaign is aimed at celebrating this special day with our communities and making them feel special”, said Xolani Mthethwa, Head of Tourism at MTPA.
Spring Day coincides with the official start of Tourism Month which is celebrated annually during the month of September. The aim of Tourism Month is to encourage South Africans to travel domestically to get a better understanding of the affordable, exciting and world class attractions that are available in the various parts of the country.
We invite our communities to look out for our officials at the following traffic intersections between 7:00 and 08:00 on September 1, and get a flower to celebrate this special day:
07:00 – 08:00 Traffic lights by Audi Mbombela and Mafunyane Water Park (Riverside) on the R40
“Throughout September MTPA will be focusing on encouraging more people to embark on leisure activities and visiting some of the less visited areas in the province. To view the Mpumalanga’s jam packed tourism month programme, visit www.mpumalanga.com and follow us on various social media platforms like facebook, twitter and Instagram. You can upload your experiences on #tourismmonthMP”, commented Mthethwa.
