Intended to honour tourism team players and businesses that ceaselessly work towards delivering world-class products and services in the travel and tourism sectors, the province of Mpumalanga has celebrated provincial finalists and winners in the 2018 Lilizela Provincial Awards Ceremony. Aptly hosted during tourism month this past September, industry leaders, local service providers and specialists in the travel and tourism sector made their way to the glorious Emnotweni Arena in Mbombela for the 2018 Lilizela Tourism Awards - Honouring the Best of the Best!
Proudly presented by the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency where provincial finalists were celebrated for their contribution to service excellence and quality assurance in the tourism industry, the MTPA announced the names of the provincial winners in acknowledgement of their valued contribution to growing the South African tourism sector into a competitive global destination of choice.
Where the theme for the evening aligned to "Honouring the Best of the Best" that South Africa has to offer, winners in the Mpumalanga Lilizela Tourism Provincial Awards have been recognised and rewarded for their ongoing commitment to service delivery and excellence in the tourism value chain. Showcasing the best in business practice, quality assurance and unsurpassed customer service experience, celebrated service providers were recognised for their entrepreneurial flair and service delivery and having set a global benchmark in service delivery standards.
Offering the ideal platform to isolate Mpumalanga’s most professional, creative and innovative travel and tourism products and services providers, the provincial awards encourage ongoing improvement, quality and a healthy dose of competitiveness that has ultimately resulted in South Africa being regarded as a must-visit destination.
With a total number of 110 entries received from across the province submitted by various different establishments, entrepreneurs and small to medium business owners, the Lilizela Tourism Provincial ceremony saw 34 finalists recognised for their valued participation. Of the 34 finalists 32 service providers were selected to proceed as the esteemed provincial winners and to represent the province of Mpumalanga in the 2018 National Lilizela Tourism Awards.
Known as South Africa's premier Travel and Tourism Awards, where judges are hand-picked from across the industry based on their expertise, the National Lilizela Tourism Awards honour and celebrate those who make a remarkable impact on tourism in South Africa recognising those businesses that grow South Africa’s global destination competitiveness.
