Talbot Farm Country Cottages, highly recommended by the AA, is located in the panoramic Dullstroom and Waterval Boven area in Mpumalanga. Talbot Farm lies about 32 km outside of Dullstroom on the Elandsfontein road, set high up in the hills. The farm has 280 hectares of hills and grasslands. There are three dams, all well stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout. The farm is privileged to have 'first water' as all the dams are fed by springs on the farm and remain full throughout the year.Blesbok and Ribbok roam the hills with frequent sightings of Duiker. The farm has three tame donkeys, geese and a duck pond.The fishing is catch and release and only barbless trout fishing equipment is allowed.Rods are available for hire on the farm and various flies and leaders can be purchased if required. Two of the dams are equipped with small rowing boats but kick boats are also welcome.The 2 self catering cottages offer an exceptional country getaway with fly-fishing, bird-watching, game-viewing and scenic walks. The cottages, individually decorated, are set amongst rolling hills and boast unbeatable scenery and beautiful indigenous flora. Guests will experience complete tranquillity and privacy in this region. There is a barbeque area, bar fridge and covered parking for guests. No pets are permitted. The rooms are non smoking. The cottages face a river which is safe for swimming, especially during the hot summer months.
