The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) recently appointed two (2) students to undergo a Private Pilot Licence Training programme.
The two students Bongisizwe Collen Mdhluli from Mzinti Trust in Nkomazi and Baby Mthethwa from Kabokweni were the successful applicants following the interview process that was conducted in June 2018. The students will be attending an extensive Private Pilot Licence Training at the Flight Training College in George, Western Cape for a period of 18 months.
This is the first programme to take place and the intention is to ensure that they gain the necessary experience and become skilled commercial pilots in the near future. Upon completion of the training programme, the students will be appointed by the MTPA. Having realized that the pilot skills are scarce, MTPA will continue to enroll applicants for this programme and afford them the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the industry.
A special send off function was arranged for the students and their families at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) to bid farewell to the students. We wish them in their training and look forward to them coming back to showcase their skills at MTPA.
