The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency would like to congratulate the six tourism products from Mpumalanga that were announced as the national Lilizela Award winners at the ceremony held at the Sun Square Arena in Pretoria on Saturday, 9 November 2019.
The Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane said that this years’ awards were about celebrating 25 years of excellence since democratic freedom. She praised the businesses and individuals that put themselves forward for scrutiny by entering the awards, saying this was a good mechanism to ensure the improvement of standards within the industry.
“Tourism is a competitive sector and demands from us a distinct, authentically South African and memorable experience so tourists can return to our country again and again or, even better, entice others to come along with them. We must continue to ensure that we transform our sector inclusively and showcase more authentic and uniquely South African experiences,” she said.
“We wish to congratulate the Mpumalanga products that made it to the national awards. We are proud to have come out with good quality products that represent Mpumalanga in the area of service excellence. They have put a lot of effort into positioning their products not just in the province but the country as a whole. We believe that this achievement will enable others to learn from this outstanding work that is being delivered and further motivate others to participate” said Mr Johannes Nobunga, CEO of Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency.
