The Executive Management of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) is pleased to announce that the unprotected industrial action that has been taking place since April 6, 2021 has ended with effect from April 20, 2021.
The MTPA together with the Provincial Leadership of NEHAWU will today sign an agreement which will see all issues raised since the beginning of the industrial action being addressed.
“We are pleased that after numerous engagements with NEHAWU we have finally managed to reach an agreement on a way forward. We are confident that the work currently underway by the Joint Task Team will be concluded and we will implement the agreement that we will be signing accordingly”, said Mr Johannes Nobunga, CEO of MTPA.
“Our affected nature reserves are now open for business and tourists will now be able to enjoy their stay without interruption. We apologise for the inconvenience that this closure has caused to our visitors.
Our staff is ready to welcome you to the province and wish you a memorable experience”, explained Nobunga. We would like to encourage visitors coming to Mpumalanga to continue to visit the various attractions on offer in the province and experience the wonders of Mpumalanga beyond wildlife.
