A Brief Overview

The small town of Roossenekal is situated between Groblersdal and Lydenburg and falls within the Greater Roossenekal Area - which incorporates the Roossendal, Draaikraal, Tonteldoos, Laersdrif, Staapberg, Wapaaskloof and Rooikraal communities. This rural village is renowned for its endemic yellow arum lilies and an annual Lily Festival is held to celebrate this floral phenomenon. The highest tar road in the country passes the village and the area is unique in that within a radius of about 30 km, two extreme climates are found.
