Rocky Drift Private Nature Reserve holds an enclosed valley of approximately 257 hectares of the most dazzling and exquisite mountains in the area. Be prepared for beautiful rare sightings of a large variety of wild life such as Bush Buck, Baboons, Klipspringer, Duiker, Steenbok, Vaal Reed Buck, Vervet Monkey, Leopard, Genet, Rooikat and be sure to watch out for Rock Pythons, although it’s unlikely you’ll spot one during these winter months so don’t stress! You’re also sure to see some superb bird life including the Black Eagle, Steppe Buzzard, various Kites and Falcons, so remember to bring those binoculars along!
Should you go on a hike, make sure to grab some fresh water directly from the stream which flows from and is nourished by the Joubert Spruit tributary of the Elands river, keeping you hydrated as you venture through the splendid landscapes, the water is fountain fed from the high mountain tops and is of the highest quality - you don’t get fresher than this!
For history lovers, an interesting fact about the Waterval Boven valley is that the slopes of the valley were once made use of by President Paul Kruger's commandos during their escape to exile in Maputo. Another super interesting fact, sometimes found on the property are circular rock encampments with old Martini Henry rifle shells and enamel mugs which were used by the Boer soldiers and scouts.

1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a queen size bed. This house offers a loft which has a set of bunk beds for children. Fully equipped kitchen and patio. Private braai area and full DSTV.
The Webster House
For bigger crowds, sleeping up to 7 people and consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with queen size beds in 2 rooms and an additional set of single beds in the 3rd and final bedroom, The house also has a 3/4 bed in the lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, patio with private braai area and full DSTV.
The accommodation is all fully serviced, including a microwave, an oven, a hob and a fridge with a freezer.
